Synopsis
This subject commences with a study of international trade transactions including the international sale of goods which will focus on the Vienna Convention on the International Sale of Goods, the Unidroit Principles of International Commercial Contracts and the International Commercial Trade Terms (Incoterms). It will consider the various international regimes for the international carriage of goods and international arbitration. It will then consider other types of arrangements for undertaking international business such as licensing agreements, franchise agreements and distributorship agreements. Finally this subject will look at international trade in the electronic environment focusing on the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce.
Prior Knowledge
LAWS11-110 Australian Legal System, and At least three semesters of Law study
