Synopsis
This subject provides an introduction and basic training in the verbal and non-verbal skills which have been shown to enhance effective counselling outcomes, a professional behavioural plan for effective data-gathering, and an examination of several of the major therapy approaches.

Learning Objectives
Successful students will learn about of the nature and processes of effective counselling as a practical and systematic intervention for the general population. Students will also learn how to initiate counselling interactions and to conduct a short counselling session.
