Synopsis
This subject gives postgraduates an in-depth study of a range of theories central to the study of communication. These theories provide a rich and powerful explanation of why communication works in varied communication contexts in a way that leads to prediction about, and control of communicators communicating in a medium. Each theory identifies a fundamental communicative force that accounts for human action. Discussion and explanation of theory is grounded in analysis of research and real-world problems.
