Synopsis
In this subject, students complete the write-up and final preparation of the Dissertation. The Dissertation must conform to APA format and be between 9,000 and 15,000 words in length. The Dissertation must take the form of a traditional thesis without chapters in the document. The Dissertation must be submitted for examination by Friday 4pm of Week 8 of the semester of enrolment in this subject. Dissertations must be submitted to the Administration Office on Level 2 of the Humanities and Social Sciences building and students should obtain a receipt of submission.
Prior Knowledge
PSYC71-633 Masters Dissertation - Part 3 is essential and must be taken prior to enrolling in this subject.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this subject students will (1) demonstrate knowledge of relevant psychological theories and models, the published empirical findings supporting these theories and the methods employed to establish them, and of the major methods of psychological investigation and techniques of measurement, and their application and interpretation, (2) demonstrate knowledge and behaviour consistent with the ethical, legal and professional requirements of psychological practice, and (4) demonstrate excellent written communication, including the ability to write, in an organised fashion, reports and other documents.
